Sertu & samak or sometimes known as ritual cleansing is for the cleansing that involves impurity or severe najs called najs mughallazah. In Islamic laws, najs mughallazah is defined as any contamination or in physical contact from dogs, pigs, and its descendants. If a Muslim were by accident or intention in skin contact with a dog (its skin or saliva), the Muslim has to cleanse the part of contact by way of Sertu.
